Winning Vinaroz navy of

III the Open Alcaxofa de Benicarló

 

  The Artichoke of Benicarló became the protagonist of an activity in which the gastronomy and the sport nautical demonstrated not to be for anything incompatible.

  The day began in the morning to nine with going and coming from crews, who picked up their 25 kilos of artichoke, donated by the Regulating Council of Origin Alcaxofa de Benicarló, with which they were forced to cook the best and more flavorful plate.

  This likeable competition became a complicated test for many crews. The qualities of the participant boats were very different. Some cooked with the greater comfort, while others improvised their kitchen with a small camping gas, in cockpits where as soon as a person fitted and had to carefully distribute to the functions of the cook and their assistants.

  Around 11 and the average one of noon, the crews began to march past with their plates in front of the Jury. Complimented the first condition of the day, the crews of the 20 enrolled boats put to sea.

  The exit was realized past the one of afternoon, with variable wind as far as intensity and direction. It began blowing of the north, for little by little, to later rolar towards the east and the south this, following the breeze regime of the zone.

  With an average of eight to nine knots, the participants went to course to the two beacons located in the surroundings of the castle of the Pope Moon of Peñíscola.

  Although the exit was dominated by Navy Vinarós I, soon Flower of May was positioned at the top of the fleet, followed by Navy Vinarós II and Viracocha. Shortly after Llangostí was able to strain itself in the front positions, with Viracocha and Vogamari to the rear, the passage by the third beacon.

  Thence, the participants returned to maintain course to Benicarló, to come together in a beacon located in front of the port, in which a great number of participants came together simultaneously. The encounter was complicad, and a small touch without consequences between Network Rosita and Acuarios took place.

    Viracocha was the first boat in happening through goal in real time in the class To, but Llangostí tightened strong and managed to arrive in second position, to only four minutes, turned which it into the winner of the test in compensated time. Secondly it was Marine Vinarós I, whereas Viracocha, had to be satisfied to the third apposition and Flower of May was relegated to the fourth place followed by Nocturne.

 

 

    In class B, regata she was very competed. The units of smaller length held the whims of the wind well and showed a clear dominion of the competition techniques. First in arriving at goal it was Marine Vinarós II, that also became the winner of its class, followed more than ten minutes by the classified second, Vogamari, and to more than 22 minutes by Ole, that after excellent regata was able to be placed in the third place. Quarter was Kraken and fifth Aquariums.

 

    Once arrived at port, the participants tasted plates of the gastronomy contest and participated all together ones of one animated barbecue, after which the delivery of trophies was realized.

 

    The special prize “To more pupas”, was for the buoy tender Juan Barber, who was to throw itself to the water to uncouple the end of a beacon that had been coiled in a helix, while the special prize to the combined boat more was for Blue Mon de Benicarló.

 

    The gastronomical trophies, granted by the jury were by this order for the crew of the Scorpion, and the Aloha, both of class B. Whereas thirdly they tied Blue Monse of the class To and Navy Vinarós II of the B.

    Class A:

1. - Llangostí (First 31,7) patroneado by Jose Mª Vidal

2. - Marine Vinaros I (Malbec 290) patroneado by Gonzalo Sanchez

3. - Viracocha (IMX 38) patroneado by Rafael Moliner.

 

    Class B

1. - Marine Vinaros II (Malbec 240) patroneado by Jose Mª Villellas

2. - Vogamari (Beaufour 31) patroneado by Antonio Roig

3. - Ole (First 21) patroneado by Vicente Tena.

 

    The jury of the gastronomical Contest was presided over by a representative of the Regulating Council Denomination of Origin Alcaxofa de Benicarló, and was integrated by a member of the Association Sancho Belly, the Brotherhood of Fishermen of Benicarló, the City council of Benicarló, the “Consell Municipal Agrari”, and the “Association of the Hotel trade of Benicarló”.

 

    III the Open de Vela Alcaxofa Benicarló was organized by the Club of Benicarló Candle, with the sponsorship of the Regulating Council Denomination of Origin Alcoxa Benicarló, Benicarló Navy, Oremar and the Jetty terrace. The City council of Benicarló, Navy Racó Calent, Bo Coffees and Real estate agency Apitena collaborated in this event.
