ABN1 eats EVERYTHING!

In the bay of Port Phillip regata coastal of this Volvo Ocean RACE has been developed 3º, possibly the most fought of all of them, and with new victory for the unbeatable ABN1. About 1,000 boats could contemplate this race during the 2 hour and a half that lasted. Secondly at only an average minute and, it arrived the Pirates from the Caribbean that scaled positions from 4º position.

Especially interesting was the duel between 2º and 3º position held with the Movistar that finally entered only 13 seconds of the Pirates. A race very disputed and with many changes in the head positions that generated tension and emotion until the end.

The Brasil1 began very well maintaining 14 knots in the boat with winds of 20 knots, until a bad maneuver with as well complicated Spinaker with a problem with the keel, made them lose 1º place to pass to 5º position.

The victory of Sanderson makes increase plus the difference of the ABN1 with the rest of the fleet. “It has been an incredible race. We have strived to secure the wished result. When we began we were simply in our boat, and with wind we have been able to remove this position to him…”

The equipment has only one week to prepare their boats to 3º stage that will lead to them soon until Wellington and until Rio de Janeiro through South Atlantic.
