The navigators will compete on board boats of class IMOCA Open 60, monocoques of 60 feet, identical on which they participate in Vendée Globe, since the completion for solitary navigation and the one of a two is very similar.

Open 60 is boats of competition of last generation that incorporate the most advanced in design and technology and have given foot to the evolution in the use of tilted keels that now incorporate the 70 feet of the VOR. Open 60, managed by the International Monohull Offshore Class Association (IMOCA), is a consolidated class, with than 20 boats more described competing in the circuit of the IMOCA. 7 projects financed in march exist and are many more in phase of planning.

One of the objectives of Barcelona World RACE, regata approved for calendar IMOCA 2007/08 and that will comprise of the championship by points of the association, is to attract many of the existing campaigns of Open 60, besides new skippers to the class
