Garraf coast

All this natural region of the well-known Penedés by the production of the famous wine of the same name, includes the calcareous bulk of the Garraf, whose natural park it characterizes by an interesting vegetation on an abundant land in caves and entrants who fall steeply to the sea, forming a trimmed coast. In the coast of Garraf the more important population centers of this region are concentrated, with great tourist tradition like Vilanova i the Geltrú, Sitges, Cubelles, and Sant Pere de Ribes.

This Catalan coast extends from the mouth of the Llobregat river, to the south of Barcelona, to beaches of Cubelles, to the south of Vilanova i the Geltrú. The zone of the Garraf includes the valley inferior of the Llobregat as well as the Bulk of Garraf, of great ecological value, including good part of the wine-making zone of the Penedès.

The North part of the coast of Garraf is formed by long fine sand beaches, bordering the western zone of the delta of Llobregat. 

But most remarkable of this coast it is formed by the massive singular and it is escarped of Garraf, that steeply descends on the sea, giving rise to a bold coast and of decorated by small coves and rocky refuges between formation. In its base we found the locality of Sitges, place of encounter for thousands of tourists of the Catalan zone.

To the south are more long fine sand beach strips, giving to passage to the port of Vilanova i the Geltrú, near the mouth of the Foix river already in the term of Cubelles.
