FORMENTERA:

Crystalline waters, marine bottoms to discover and nudist beaches

From Ibiza to Formentera, 7 Kilometers separate the two islands that form the Pitiusas, name given by the Romans to these two islands and the small barren islands surround that them.

We leave Ibiza and once past Island DES Penjats we arrived at the Island of Espalmador with its white sand beaches. In summer we will agree with many anchored boats. In the Island we will not find any type on watch since she is not built-up. The island is private but the access always has been free. Its main beach is S´Alga, little advisable in the months of summer to be full of people. Their sulfurous mud baths draw attention very beneficial for the skin.

We can search in Cove Turrets, only advisable for boats of little openwork since the bottom oscillates between the meter and the average meter and, we will have to accede by the North slope of the small barren island Turrets because by the south the aids only can go. Another anchorage in the Port of Espalmador, with a bottom between the 3 and 6 meters, exposed to winds of the South, Southwest and the West. If you come from the north you must have well-taken care of with rocks and sank banks that extend from the coast.

A small Straits separates to us of Formentera. It appears in the first place the Beach of Is Trucadors and soon to Beach of Illetes. In summer many boats go for being an ideal site of anchorage, although is necessary to have well-taken care of with small the low ones. Adentranse in the small cove behind the Islands of Pouet and Rodona is not recommendable if you do not own a boat of little openwork

In order to have dinner we can stop in Sa Platgeta DES Carregador or arrive to us until Savin, the Port of Formentera where we will be able to find all type of services. S´Estany DES Peix is a closed bay, unusual fact in these islands, the communication with the sea makes through a channel of 20 meters in width and only a meter of depth.

If we followed towards the south we arrived at the Cove d´en Cabrit, comfortable anchorage except when the winds of the North, the Northwest and the Northeast blow. We can follow until Racó DES Moor, one calita small surrounded by cliff, but only adapted with good weather and boats of little openwork.

Passed the End of Sa Gavina, they follow low cliffs until arriving at Saona Cove, perfect to cast anchor if winds of the West do not blow, is only necessary to have well-taken care of with a rock that sounds two meters located in the North zone and to about 60 meters in direction the west. Natural cove of great dimensions and crystalline waters.

In End It strickles we can observe wonderful marine bottoms, waters I am transparent and turkish. From a steep zone begins here, with walls of considerable heights full of caves, we can find calitas to our step small.

We border the CAP of Barbaria, more desert zone of the island, and appears the Beach of Migjorn very abierta to all the winds except those of the north is necessary to have well-taken care of with very treacherous low rocks and in this zone. In summer she is not very comfortable of anchorage due to the surge. If we sailed near the coast is necessary to go with well-taken care of with multiple reefs near the border, as well as with the parallel rocky barriers to this one.

We border the bulk of the Mola and we were with small calitas with boats of fishermen of the zone. We will see decrease cliffs in the North face of the island while we arrived at the unique trustworthy anchorage of the zone, Racó de Bid up Sa, where we will be able to be protected in case of bad weather.

It begins the long Beach of Tramuntana exposed to winds of the North and the East and without no shelter. Calitas small like Racó has several d´es Pou DES Watercress and Gypsy dialect of Sant Agustí, both refuge for fishermen to whom we can accede with the aid.

It will be necessary to hope to Is Pujols, unique place of this part of the coast, to cast anchor. Surrounded by small barren islands and stumbling blocks that serve to us as defense to cast anchor. It is necessary to have well-taken care of with Drought d´es Pujols, because with good weather one does not see except the breeze causes that the sea breaks above. It is Pujols is the main tourist nucleus of Formentera.

S´Estany Pudent is the second suspends there natural of the island, formed mainly by water static of its bad scent. From it divides the Beach of Llevant here, very treacherous beach due to the currents, where the swimmers do not have to trust.

From we can here approach us the Island of Espardell with good fondeaos in its coast the west and Espardelló. We will have it to the visit to condition to the climate.
