Air Step: Air cushion to fly

An authentic newness for its two versions Open and WA, with its evolutionary careening with Air-Step technology that generates an air cushion under helmet like sustenation…. But of what it consists?

After 8 months of studies and investigations on the part of M.Tronquez R.Laval, Jeantet and P.Tableau, Bénéteau have removed to the market the new careening with “steps” and exits of air to increase the sustenation. The last later third of the careening is thought to form an air cushion that is absorbed by Venturi effect from two exits located in the axis of the careening and on half of the length. The inhaled air comes from two conduits that end at the cover.

This technology allows a gain of speed of a 5%, but where it removes a fort benefit is in the time of planning and the acceleration. Without the blower pipes 9 seconds to happen to the planning against only 4 seconds with the blower pipes without the lid! 25 seconds up to 36 knots against only 18 seconds to reach the 41 knots of terminal velocity.

And not only it is question of benefits, since the new Air-Step careenings offer a easier and tolerant pilotage allowing the closed turns to top without needing cutting to something the accelerator. With the Air-Step it is enough to put the trim in neutral and to leave it in this position as soon as the boat is in planning.

Flyer 750 of Bénéteau can be motorized with fueraborda of 250 150 CB or 2 of CB obtaining itself in both cases similar benefits (41.5 knots with the double motorization and 40.1 knots with fueraborda of 250 CVs), and consumptions similar of about 50 liters per hour sailing to a cruise of 30 knots. The option of double motorization seems most suitable since with two counter-rotating coaxial propellerses they allow to totally eliminate the effect of typical pair in the motors of much power.

The Open version offers a central console of sport type a sufficiently wide step, and high banister rails that go high the prow.

Pack comfort offers the bathtub table, the pads of the solarium of prow, and cushions for the stern seats. The copilot and pilot's seats are adjustable in height and turn, leaving a comfortable space until the instrumentation panel and the steering wheel. The zone of prow is quite extensive and can become solarium or serve like place in which to be reunited. Under the prow bank we will find an ample coffer in which to pack voluminous objects like the life jackets.

The bathtub is quite ample to receive to 5 people around the detachable table. The pilotage seats will turn to form a place in which to share a food. Also we will find including in the standard version a small shower with connected electrical pump a deposit of 80 liters.

The 750 Walkaround is a minicruise able to offer habitability an improved with respect to the Open with small but authentic cabin realized in contramolde and equipped with a small independent cleanliness. The stern bank offers 3 seats a little in the style of the boats offshore. As option can be asked for the ground of the bathtub in teka and pack comfort with long cushions for solarium, nevra of 42 liters and one small gas kitchen with a single fire.
