The construction of the Port, that began in June of 2002, is structured in two phases. 1ª phase consists of constructing the harbor infrastructure proper that include the wharves, docks, contradiques, zone of captainship and restoration, commercial center, the market, the fishing wharf, the school of candle, pantalanes, the zone of marine drought and the factories.

2ª is structured around a channel of 300 TM. of length and 40 of width that s introduces in the city and connects with the Municipal Olympic Pavilion. The channel welcomes 183 moorings for boats in motor that do not surpass the 3 M.s of upper works.

The year 2006 all the remodeling will be finished
